You will want to Read Part One of this 2 Segment Blog Post - Personal Experience : My personal experience with this leadership style with a leader I worked for a few years ago. This person is known for getting things done and to be a no-none sense type of leader, but I absolutely adore her. I was interviewing for a role, and this person was one of my interviewers, I had been coached throughout the day on what to say and what not to say to this person. So, by the time I got into their office to conduct the interview, I was exhausted - after 8 hours of interview. On top of that, I had just returned from a family emergency in which my grandmother had passed away less than 24 hours prior. (So put all of that into perspective/context...) This person was fully aware of all the family related issues I had recently gone through, and as soon as I walked into the room they provided me with the most sincere apologies and sympathies and put my mind at ease in the softest most special manner

I have been doing a lot of thinking around styles of leadership and in my thoughts I have done some strong research on Walt Disney. For anyone who has read any of my blog post, you know I LOVE Walt Disney as a leader and as a visionary. Walt had a very unique style, he possessed an uncommon natural leadership trait that many want, but requires a high level of self awareness and emotional intelligence to achieve. The capability of knowing when to lead with an iron fist and knowing when to put on a velvet glove. By this we mean, knowing when to be the commanding person in the room, and knowing when that "commanding personality" is not going to achieve that outcome or goals you wish to achieve. Why You Need to Vote

Now, I never talk about my political beliefs, those I believe are private - much like my faith. However, if you read my blog, you should be able to guess where on the political spectrum I fall. Regardless, this is a short message to remind everyone that November 8 is election day and to GET OUT & VOTE. With my background in American Government and Constitution Law, I will just provide you with a small crash course on government (call it government 101 lite!): There are 3 distinct branches of government: executive (president), legislative (congress), and judicial (court system) - hints the checks and balances... The president (executive branch) does not directly "create law," that a power congress (legislative branch), and the justices to determine the legislation's constitutionality. The supreme court is kinda a big deal, with so many major pieces of law in limbo right now, there is the potential for this court to shape the direction country for many years
