Awesome God
“Our God is an awesome God. He reigns from heaven above with wisdom, power, and love; our God is an awesome God.” I remember, in my Holy Family Days (Let’s Go Crusaders), listening to “Awesome God” and learning the lyrics in sign language at our 8th-grade class retreat. I always had a quiet affinity for the song but wouldn’t outwardly express it as a 13-year-old girl who was “too cool.” Also, if I am honest, I didn’t know our God was awesome until I lived a little. Then, somehow randomly (I guess nothing is random, now is it…), I came across Awesome God at 36 years old. 23 years after my first exposure to the song. I was on a late flight out of town for work to deliver DEI and Values training and heard it on my phone. I cannot even lie to you; Awesome, God hit a little differently than it has in the past. At this moment, I realized OUR GOD is an awesome God. Reflecting on life and all the things I have lived through to be here and be a testimony, Our God is an Awesome God. Th
